New 2016 Silverado 1500 Takes on Stronger Face for Knoxville Truck Fans

Revised styling, technology highlight Chevrolet Silverado 1500 updates for 2016 model year

A Chevy mainstay is finally showing what it’s got for 2016. The redesigned 2016 Silverado 1500 was revealed at the Texas State Fair, and there’s a lot to love about the updated Chevy trucks.

The longest-lasting, most dependable trucks on the road truly reflect their strength for 2016. A sculpted hood and advanced connectivity are just some of the changes for the Silverado Light Duty.

2016 Silverado 1500: Strong face, stronger truck

Chevrolet updated its flagship truck’s appearance for the new model year. The 2016 Silverado 1500’s front end is more muscular and accented by LED lights. These lights are integrated into sweeping horizontal elements and grille inserts, creating a more streamlined truck. The new sculpted hood sets apart the new Silverado from other trucks in its class.

Whether your truck is for work or play (or both), the new technology and connectivity will make your truck a hot-spot on wheels. The available OnStar and 4G LTE Wi-Fi returns for 2016. With this, the Silverado 1500 can be your mobile office or power your devices on a road trip.

New for 2016 is the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay availability. When your new Silverado has the seven-inch Chevrolet MyLink screen, you have the option of smartphone integration. Owners of iPhones 5 or later and compatible Android devices can make calls and send/receive messages and listen to music from their phones. The smartphone integration also allows Silverado owners to use driver-friendly apps such as maps and music from the MyLink screen.

Customers can chose from three advanced EcoTec3 engines, all which have direct fuel injection, continuously variable valve timing, and cylinder deactivation (aka Active Fuel Management). First, Silverado’s standard 4.3-liter V6 is has the most torque of any standard V6 at 305 lb.-ft.

Next up is the 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. If you want a fuel-efficient V8, this is your dream V8. Knoxville 2016 Silverado owners can get up 23 mpg on the highway.

Power and torque characterize the 6.2-L V8. Your new 2016 Silverado 1500 could get up to 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque, the most of any light-duty truck. This engine also offers the highest towing of any V-8 light-duty pickup, up to 12,000 pounds.

Testing of Next Camaro ZL1 Made Evident Thanks to Latest Spy Shots

Exterior changes including larger grille becomes much more noticeable in newest pics

On the heels of major announcements for the 2016 Camaro, Chevrolet continues to work on its muscle and performance line. CarPix and AutoBlog have uncovered spy shots of the camouflaged, next-gen Camaro ZL1. The new exterior changes should have Knoxville Camaro fans excited.

The most noticeable change is the much larger and almost honeycombed grille that will take center stage when you look head-on at it. This new shape gives the Camaro a modern look to keep pace with its technological interior. The lower air dam also sticks out a bit more, and the hood looks similar to other General Motors performance models.

Black-spoked wheels make a return from the current generation, and the rear bumper has slight changes as well. It’s still too early to make any judgements about the powertrain of the ZL1, but more than likely it will have the traditional 6.2-liter supercharged V8.

The ZL1 is one of the greatest pieces of engineering to come out of Chevrolet garages and design rooms. With a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds and a 580-horsepower supercharged V8 engine, the Camaro ZL1 is built for the track but also fun for the open road and highways. The high-performance looks both inside and out set the Camaro ZL1 apart from its competition, and that’s why the namesake has stayed around for decades and counting.

Current 2015 Camaro ZL1
The improved Camaro ZL1 should launch for the 2017 model year, which should place it at the fourth quarter of 2016. The wait will be well worth it though for Tennessee Camaro enthusiasts. If you are ready to check out a Camaro today, search West Chevrolet’s inventory right now for the latest deals on the Chevy muscle car.

Quality is Key: 4 Chevy Vehicles Rank Highest in J.D. Power Study

Malibu, Equinox, Silverado 1500 and Spark rated best in segment in initial quality

Those who purchase Chevrolet vehicles have made their satisfaction known through the J.D. Power 2015 Initial Quality Study. Ten Chevy models ranked in the Top 3 or better in their segments, and four Chevys topped their categories.

More than 86,000 new car owners of 2015 models were surveyed by J.D. Power, an industry authority for customer satisfaction and quality. When the dust had settled and the entries calculated, Chevy models of all sizes and purposes emerged victorious.

The Spark city car, the iconic Malibu, the powerful Silverado 1500 and the family-favorite Equinox each won their respective categories, and all four of these wonderful choices for new Chevys are available through West Chevrolet serving Knoxville, TN!

“We are constantly challenging ourselves to bring to market the highest-quality products for our customers, regardless of the type of vehicle they purchase,” Alan Batey, global Chevrolet president, said. “Quality studies like this one tell us we are moving in the right direction.”

2015 Chevrolet Equinox | Winner of Compact SUV segment

For Tennessee families who need a new family transporter, the Chevrolet Equinox makes an excellent choice. Pull the Multi-Flex sliding seats forward to add almost eight inches of cargo room; fold them completely flat to create 63.7 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. The 2015 Equinox has ample storage compartments and an available programmable power liftgate making loading cargo all that much easier.

2015 Chevrolet Malibu | Winner of Midsized Car segment

The 2015 Malibu earned a five-star rating from the federal government, and it was designed safety prevention in mind. When used correctly, technologies on the 2015 Malibu can help avoid collisions altogether, including four-wheel antilock disc brakes and the StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System with Traction Control.

Under the hood, you can choose between the 2.5-liter ECOTEC I4 with its up-to 36 mpg highway or the turbocharged 2.0-L engine. With the turbocharged engine, you can still get up to 30 mpg highway, so either way the Malibu makes a great daily commuter!

2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 | Winner of Large Light Duty Pickup segment

Silverados are synonymous with power, and now the 1500 has the quality award to back it up. Updates for the 2015 Silverado included a new eight-speed automatic transmission for the 6.2-L V8 engine, improved technology offerings, upgraded towing capacity ratings and more.

2015 Chevrolet Spark | Winner of City Car segment

Live in a big city and need an efficient compact car? The Chevy Spark is right up your alley! An EPA-estimated 39 mpg highway also makes the Spark a great daily driver. The standard OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi service makes the Spark a mobile hotspot.

Starting Prices Lowered for All-new 2016 Chevy Malibu

Style increases for 2016, but sticker on entry-level trim lowered from previous year

For the 2016 model year, Chevrolet has increased the fuel efficiency and technology on the all-new Malibu. One would guess that the price tag would go up with these improvements, but the price tag on entry level 2016 Chevrolet Malibus are expected to be lower than the previous year according to General Motors.

“The 2016 Malibu is engineered and priced to give customers impressive value and technology that’s hard to compete with,” Steve Majoros, director of Chevrolet cars and crossovers, said.

For 2016, the Malibu will be offered in five models — L, LS, LT, Hybrid and Premier. Standard equipment includes 10 airbags, cruise control, push-button start with passive entry and fuel-saving stop/start technology on the 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine.

As the trim levels go up, so does the amount of standard options. For LS trims, a Chevrolet MyLink Radio and its seven-inch diagonal color touch screen is standard. With the MyLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is available. With Apply CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity, you can make MyLink act like your smartphone with apps on the touchscreen. A rearview camera is also available.

Eight-way power driving seats are what you can find on the LT trims of the 2016 Malibu. GM estimates up to 37 mpg on the highway for the 2016 Malibu LT. A 2.0 turbo engine is available for the LT model, and it’s more powerful than the outgoing engine.

No matter the starting point, you can be sure to find the greatest deals on 2016 Chevrolet Malibus near Knoxville at West Chevrolet! Stay tuned to our inventory and social media for more news on the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu and other new Chevy models!

2016 Camaro Sees Upgrades in Tech, More Engine Choices

Big gains in technology, fuel efficiency and refinement slated for Chevy muscle car

The wait is slowly ending for Tennessee Camaro fans as more information is being revealed on the 2016 Camaro. This sixth-generation Camaro is poised to be one of the best Chevys on the market and at West Chevrolet serving Knoxville, TN.

New tech makes muscle modern

The 2016 Camaro is one of many new Chevy models to have available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. This new technology will allow smartphone users to plug their phone into one of the available USB ports. The Chevrolet MyLink system must be an added option on the Camaro, but it will be used for the smartphone integration.

The touchscreen will reflect driver-safe apps that are seen on the phone, so you can listen to your music apps, check your maps or many other features found on a smartphone. Voice activation can be utilized for many of the apps, and incoming text messages can be read out loud by the Camaro.

Other new safety and technology features for the 2016 Camaro include an OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, drive-mode selector and back-up camera.

Three engine choices means more Camaro variety

As your Knoxville Chevy dealer, we want to offer you the best, and with three new engine choices, the 2016 Camaro can better fit your needs. The new base engine is an efficient 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder. Don’t let the size fool you—this engine still kicks out up to 275 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. You can also get up to 30 mpg on the highway, so you can take your Camaro further.

The 3.6-L V6 engine and its CVV timing is good for up to 335 horsepower, and GM claims it will get better fuel economy as well.

For a true muscle car fanatic, the classic 6.2-L V8 is back. Owners can get up to 455 horsepower and the same number for torque. Brembo brakes and auxiliary coolers for the transmission, differential and oil are also seen on the V8 2016 Camaros.
