2021 Chevy Malibu Sport Edition Featured in Carbuzz.com Close-Up

During a time when trucks and SUVs are snagging up a large share of what is the overall popularity factor, it is inspiring to see that the fun and engagement had while driving a sedan still lives on. The ninth-generation Chevy Malibu is gaining a new spec as it now enters its sixth year on the market in the form of the Sport Edition, and the folks on staff at Carbuzz.com highlighted the excitement in their blog this week.

The 2021 Sport Package includes upgrades in the form of a black nameplate badge, black bow-tie emblems, and black-painted alloy wheels measuring 13 inches in diameter, wrapped in 245-section all-season tires. It is based on the LT trim level – one step down from the range-topping premier trim – and sees the requirement of a Jet-Black exterior paint option. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will now see wireless features, where before a USB cable connection was required, and the model will also see the addition of a newly available safety feature being added to encourage proper seat belt use. Called “Buckle to Drive”, the driver is not allowed to shift out of park until it is detected that the seat belt is fastened.

Inside, the current Malibu sports a traditional cabin for its class, but it adds to the style with varying light color contrasts, an exceptionally large touchscreen, a simpler HVAC interface, and uniquely shaped air vents. If you opt for the RS trim, you see even more contrast with Jet Black Interior, which matches with the metallic trim nicely. Those looking for a bit more luxury will find what they need in the Premium trim, which includes leather seating, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and more.

Standard amenities such as an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a six-speaker audio system, and Bluetooth audio streaming should all be on the list, and under the hood in the starter model is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers 163 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. At the top of the engine lineup is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that cranks out 250 hp, paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission. All of us here at West Chevy of Knoxville are proud of the fact that the current Malibu boasts a “Superior” rating in the front-crash prevention test, and this is with the enhanced automatic emergency braking system.

After a test drive, you’re going to see so many reasons to add the Malibu to your family’s fleet: the sedan always offers up the connection between the road and the driver that the excitement of driving was always meant to be centered around. The ability to haul and tow that a pickup gives you always boasts its appropriate time and place, but when a hairpin turn is in your near future, the spirit and excitement of a sedan are unbeatable and exhilarating!

2019 Chevy Malibu Pacific Metallic Blue Color Showcased in GM Authority

As the New Year's season rolls into Knoxville with its promise of change, prosperity, and renewed strength, many customers who are looking for a new vehicle are no doubt wondering about the color scheme that will best work for them. As you converse over the table with your loved ones, it could be said that the most fun element of the process is checking out in-depth exactly how you want your car to look! As you are looking at your laptop or tablet through all of the options, GM Authority highlighted last week one of the newest ones added to the mix.

Assigned the color code G60 and touch-up paint code WA 617D, Pacific Blue Metallic is one of the two blue hues available for the wildly popular 2019 Chevy Malibu. It is included in the base price of the car, and is available in conjunction with all interior color combinations, and every available trim level except for the L models. The new Malibu can already be found priced for sale and ready to go here on the lot, where you can come test drive this awesome mid-sized sedan which is the second largest in the Chevy lineup. This current ninth-generation model was introduced three years ago, and rides on the GM E2 platform that it shares with the Buick Regal, Cadillac XT4, and Chevy Cruze.

For the New Year's refresh, the Malibu was the recipient of a midcycle enhancement, which it gained revised exterior styling, a new Malibu RS trim level, a CVT transmission for the L, LS, LT, and RS models, an amazing new infotainment system, new 8-inch driver information center, and LED headlamps for the Premier model. Professional-grade review staff from Edmunds.com thought that one of the best features was the easy-to-use touchscreen interface: if you are in severe Knoxville gridlock or congestion, it's nice to know that when you come up for air in the form of digital information, you won't wait long for a search result.

When you embark on a journey in the new Malibu, the ride is smooth and composed while dealing incredibly well with rough spots of road, and any other elements that challenge the suspension. As the season changes inevitably to the much warmer months here in Tennessee, strong air conditioning that can handle the grip of a heat wave is well appreciated, and the Malibu's takes the cake: it has been rated as the best in the business many times over. Also sporting a very uncluttered dashboard layout and very straightforward controls, the Malibu is a perfect choice for the discerning buyer who still holds on to the appeal of a sedan rather than the wildly popular crossover SUV. One of our favorite safety features is Pedestrian Detection: it warns the driver of any pedestrians in the roadway, and will automatically apply the brakes if you don't take immediate action!

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Highway Loss Data Institute conducts vehicle tests on how crashworthy the vehicle is: and how the occupants are protected during an intense accident. The vehicles that perform the best during the tests qualify for Top Safety Pick, and the Malibu ranked as this dominating force when equipped with available Driver Confidence Package. U.S. News and World Report is another well-trusted entity that many look to during an auto purchase, and the Malibu ranked as best Hybrid car for Families, as well as Best Midsize Car for Families.

Built-in USB ports and an available wireless charging station offer plenty of options for keeping the gadgets you love to browse on connected, charged and ready to go.

The Malibu Hybrid comes with a 1.8-L hybrid engine offering 49 MPG in the city and revolutionary features such as the Driver Efficiency Gauge -- this useful tool provides feedback on how your driving habits affect your fuel economy, and helps you get the absolute most potential out of every single gallon you use. The very sporty, responsive ride is noticeable the minute you first get behind the wheel, and the variable valve timing as well as the direct injection are performance-boosting traits that you'll notice help you with power potential. When you come visit to check out this award-winning superstar of a car, check out the Lane Keep Assist and Rear Vision Camera as well as front pedestrian braking features. Becoming informed on the many ways you can keep your passengers safe may help you finalize your decision, and drive this brand-new powerhouse auto right off the lot!

The Detroit Free Press had high praise for the ’16 Malibu, saying that the vehicle puts Chevrolet back to the front of the competitive midsize sedan segment. A new look varies from the more conservative Malibu models of the past five and 10 years to give Knoxville sedan buyers something greater to consider.
