Last year at West Chevy of Knoxville and all over America was a fantastic time for Silverado pickup trucks, as nearly 600,000 were sold to excited new owners! The Motor Trend penned a great feature on their blog last week about the 1500 RST's road test, and their first comment was how impeccably handsome it was upon arrival. Their test truck sported black paint with red accents and had a stylish grille and thick stance.
Since EVs are going to play a huge and game-changing role in the future, we have realized lately how essential it is to bask in the glory of the remaining large engines that are still in select cars and trucks. The 2021 Silverado has a V8 that boasts 6.2 liters of displacement along with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
The Silverado goes from 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds and conquers the quarter-mile spring in 14 seconds at 99.5 mph. During this Motor Trend writer's test drive, he loved how the truck handled on twisty canyon roads, ranking the ride as much more pleasant and ruggedly competent than that of the F-150. The Silverado's leaf springs have proven to be much better for towing, a task that requires as much on-the-spot capability as possible. .
The Silverado 1500's new base engine has a clear advantage over the previous one, and drivers are sure to appreciate the boost in power. One of Chevrolet’s highest priorities is finding ways to improve the interior to compete with other brands whose interiors have grown exponentially in luxury status, and word has it that there may be a high-tech collaboration with Google in the works.
The coming models of Chevy trucks may now be looking at the addition of Google-powered infotainment systems, class-leading voice recognition apps, and a larger infotainment screen onboard. This year's model brandishes a fully digital gauge cluster, and a gear selector replaces the outgoing column shifter. Drivers in new models will also have access to many new interior storage options and a larger sunroof to soak in the sun. We are America's favorite truck for many reasons, and this year's summer holiday season gave us so many more to get excited!
