Our always-on-the-spot friends at GM Authority gave us the official scoop on everything 2023 Blazer-related on their blog this past week, and we immediately became excited as we envisioned awesome day trips in this sporty and youthful SUV soon arriving on the scene.
The entry-level 2LT trim with the base turbocharged 2.0-liter LSY gas engine and front-wheel drive will now see a price range that will attract any savvy customer looking for an around-town drive that looks spectacular at every turn. The Chevy Blazer received a mid-cycle refresh for the 2023 model year, with a brand-new front and rear fascia, different LED headlights and taillights, and a brand-new infotainment display. There are also 3 new exterior colors to choose from in the form of Copper Bronze Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, and Sterling Gray Metallic.
You’ll be enjoying every minute behind the wheel with the Blazer now boasting two unique engine options: the first is the turbocharged 2.0-Liter I-4 gas engine rated at 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, and the other is the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 LGX gas engine, rated at 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. We’d recommend the latter as our constant spirit of wanting to get places quick and flex just a bit takes precedence, but whichever one you decide will be paired with all-wheel drive and be available in all trim levels. The Car and Driver team ranked the 2022 Blazer as “all-around stylish and a blast to drive”, and everyone we know loves its fierce face and intently chiseled exterior.
The visual sporty cues on the inside have taken much from the iconic Camaro, and the RS trim is where anyone looking for value in a very sporty package can set their sights. A ride this flashy and fun is also appropriately upgraded with the Sound and Technology package: it includes a 120-volt outlet, more USB ports for everyone onboard, a Bose stereo, a 360-degree camera system, and a rearview camera mirror. The V6 version can tow up to 4500 pounds, and the accuracy of the steering and overall stature of the Blazer has rendered it the best-driving crossover to ever wear the proud Chevy bow tie label.
Also boasting 31 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 64 with the seats folded, a grand total of 26 carry-on suitcases were able to fit in the Car and Driver team’s testing model. Every single Blazer comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with an attractive and easy-to-operate interface, and ability to be equipped with a Wi-Fi hotspot. Each Blazer also comes standard with automatic high beams, automated emergency braking, forward-collision warning, and more.
