Silverado EV RST First Edition “Hotter Than Hot” Off the Line: Sells out in 12 Minutes!

Bloomberg is one of the reliable news sources that dishes out the scoop every day regarding automobiles, technology, living, and modern culture. We had watched eagerly as they delivered the scoop on the Silverado EV RST First Edition, and there was one sensational fact surrounding its arrival. It sold out in 12 minutes flat! GM CEO Mary Barra claimed in an interview that “reservations are still coming in, so we’re very excited about the response that we’re getting because this is a ground-up EV truck.”

Chevy plans to begin deliveries of the limited-run truck during fall 2023! Excited consumers will fully understand why the brand we love to represent here at West Chevy of Knoxville will come out on top in the electric game. The electric truck competition got even hotter as automakers will continue to make the eco-conscious transition to powertrains that forego the pump during the next few years.

It has already been promised that the Silverado EV pickup will triumph over the Ford F-150 Lightning on a slew of performance metrics, including towing capacity, driving range, and passenger space. Both retail and fleet versions will be made available with additives such as a fixed-glass roof, marking this the first time that GM has made this a standard feature. It offers much greater visibility, increased headroom, and a more space during the long haul. The presence of the Ultium battery gives the vehicle an estimated range of more than 400 miles when fully charged, along with the brand-new feature of Four-Wheel-Steer.

Dual motors will turn all four wheels showcasing as much as 664 horsepower and over 780 lb-ft of torque. Official testing has rendered the 0-60 mph time in just under 4.5 seconds. When the premise of electrification was first a farfetched idea, fast charging was an option that was going to make the choosiest purchasers finally convert. Modern technology has reached a point of busy schedule saving marvel: DC fast charging at 350 kW will provide 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

Towing capacity is one of the main draws of a truck; the Silverado EV can effectively do rounds on the daily with a 10,000-lb trailer or 1,300 lbs of cargo in the bed. The RST provides exciting features such as automatic adaptive air suspension, rear-wheel steering, Super Cruise, and a configurable pickup bed with the Multi-Flex Midgate. Everyone has been loving the effect that larger screens have on the interior, and we do not blame them! The RST brandishes a 17.0-inch center screen that stretches to an 11-inch digital instrument display.

2022 Corvette Z06 Detail Docket: Shedding Light on the Incoming Performance Prototype

With the New Year just beginning, car buyers nationwide are enjoying all of the features and value prospect of the 2021 fleet. From the Silverado to the Equinox, there are some fantastic new vehicles here at West Chevy of Knoxville, and a wide range of functions and trim levels for family drivers on up to sporty and aggressive crossover SUVs. After the release of the mid-engined C8 Corvette, the attention and rave reviews it nailed down worldwide had everyone anxious to see what cornering-proficient and power-rich Corvette was on the way next.

The 2022 Corvette Z06 is on track to be the most powerful one yet and is supposed to receive wider, stickier tires along with much more powerful brakes. With drastic aerodynamic improvement and a long list of driver assistance features, the Corvette's long-standing fan base is going to go wild over this incoming track lover's feast. The C8 offered the most driver-focused cabin yet, and the minute that many first-time drivers sat inside they compared the build to the world's top supercars that boast a much higher price tag.

With the exotic flat-plane crank V8 under the hood, the 2022 Z06 is going to emit a throaty rumble not like any 'Vette that has come before and still inherits the best technology traits from the regular model. The naturally-aspirated 5.5-liter V8 is expected to generate over 600 horsepower, mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic and rear-wheel drive. Defining one point of reference to put one in the mindset of how much power will be at the Z06's disposal, the 495-horsepower Z51 went from zero to 60 in just 2.8 seconds and blasted through the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 122 mph.

Suspension tuning on vehicles that are going to be spending a large amount of their time on the track is very important, as an in-depth re-calibration and other active aerodynamics will improve every inch of handling. A car this good deserves the ultimate sound system to enjoy during the thrills, and you have the choice of a Bose 10-speaker system along with 14-speaker upgrade. A car like this could quite likely be tempting when left in anyone's hands such as a valet, and the Performance Data Recorder on board can keep track of any “untrained stunt moves” that could inevitably result.

As the staff on duty at Jalopnik pointed out, the RPM potential for the Z06 is even higher than the notoriously-high redline supercars such as the Lamborghini Huracan Evo and Aventador SVJ. This is the vehicle that will no doubt howl so loudly in the hot summer lot at local car shows that excited spectators will be begging for just one more rev! We'll also be keeping our eyes on the potential for a complete exhaust overhaul, that will go hand in hand with the new engine to have the audible distinction of a destroying and mammoth caliber.

2022 Chevy Corvette Z06 Proves to be "Perfectly Placed" and Aggressive on The Track

Now that the massive amount of anticipation and excitement surrounding the mid-engine Corvette has simmered down for one brief moment, it is the perfect time to shift the automotive lover's focus to the even more powerful Z06 model coming soon. Brandishing the exotic flat-plane-crank V8 engine, the 2022 Corvette Z06 will sport a bellowing and robust treat of noise, unlike any 'Vette that's fearlessly blazed the path before it. It admittedly looks a bit meaner than the mid-engined C8 due to flared fenders, larger air scoops, and aerodynamic add-ons that offer up the best in cornering traction and high-speed downforce.

This is a more track-focused version of the standard 'Vette, complete with heightened performance qualities and more aggressive styling. One of the most exciting qualities that we are anticipating here at West Chevy of Knoxville regarding the Z06 is the engine that is going to turn many heads: it is the naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 that features a flat-plane crank and revs between 8500 and 9000 RPM. It is expected to crank out more than 600 horsepower, and the sound it makes will be pleasantly on par with the cars it is competing with.

This rather non-traditional V8 is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. The 495-hp 2020 Corvette Z51 completed the zero to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and completed the standing quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 122 mph, and the Z06 promises to be even faster. More powerful brakes and wider, stickier tires will allow for better cornering and faster stops than the regular 'Vette. The structure will be strengthened and the suspension tune re-calibrated on the Z06, reassuring that all performance advantages will be engaged full-throttle where it fares the fastest: on the track!

The incoming Z06 is one excellent example of an instance where a fully-committed design team went far above and beyond to ensure that the interior was far from ordinary. While the square steering wheel and the large cluster of climate-control buttons on the center console are a bit unusual, this is a cabin that was built to be very driver-focused, with a long list of standard and optional features. There is a 12.0-inch completely digital gauge cluster, a heads-up display, heated and ventilated seats, and wireless charging. Also inside is an 8.0-inch touchscreen that brings to live Chevy's Infotainment 3 Plus system, with your choice of a standard 10-speaker or 14-speaker premium Bose stereo to put you in the mood for sheer road scorching and fun.

One very noticeable trait in drivers who are addicted to the track is the love of and close observation of stats: information gathered from every single run can make the next one that much more exciting and competitive. The new Z06 will continue to offer the Performance Data Recorder, which allows you to record in-depth video of every single corner and straightaway you conquer. We'll keep you posted right here on the blog about other features and specific arrival dates, and the potential for legendary handling and off-the-line factor that the Z06 is chiseled from!
