2023 Chevy Tahoe Z71 Impresses Motor Trend Experts as Capable Contender for “Four-Wheeler SUV of the Year”

When GM first introduced the Chevy Tahoe Z71 platform in 2021, we were intently watching here at West Chevy of Knoxville as we knew it was a stellar larger-sized hauler with widespread appeal! It was then launched with the Z71 and Yukon AT4 trims, and both were then invited to compete in the Motor Trend Four-Wheeler SUV of the Year event. The 2023Tahoe came ready for the challenge, with many new additions that keep it competitive and agile.

These include magnetic ride control dampers, an upgraded engine, and the addition of an optional electronic limited-slip differential. As the team headed to the track, they were excited to put this reliable 6.2-liter EcoTex3 V8 to the test, which fearlessly cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The crew witnessed the Tahoe Z71 laying down a zero to 60 mph time of 6.46 seconds, and an aggressive run through the quarter mile in 14.85 seconds.

It had just as powerful a launch off the line as the crew had expected, with sport mode being the favorite for its perfect gear shifting. The 4-High Auto transfer case setting was the best at allowing for killer traction, and the judges gave high marks for the Tahoe’s seat comfort, with the middle and 3rd rows offering a great place for those on a post-holiday haul. The new driver information screen and center infotainment system proved to be a useful application for Google integration, offering a format that was not too confusing and easily got the task at hand done.

The Tahoe Z71 was fitted with a 33-inch Goodyear 275/60R20 tire, which offered the stance and go-anywhere strut that makes the Tahoe a little more appealing for those planning an overland adventure. It was incredibly at ease on the highway, thanks to the addition of magnetic ride control dampers and the sufficient power from the 6.2-liter V8. Once they encountered the off-road terrain, they conquered medium-sized bumps, massive ruts, and berms with ease, as the independent suspension did its job working overtime to smooth out the elements.

The Tahoe offers more space and sophistication than earlier, which is a solid foundation for its ability to lead the large SUV class. Winning an editor’s choice award from Car and Driver, you’ll also want to make sure that you check out the Signature Package: it includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, a heated steering wheel and second-row seats, memory settings, panoramic sunroof, power-folding third row, and upgraded towing equipment. This testing crew managed to fit six carry-on suitcases directly behind the third row, whereas the outgoing model only had room for four. In addition to multiple interior charging ports, the three-row Tahoe offers an upgraded Bose Stereo System and two 12.6-inch displays mounted behind the front seats.

The 2023 Chevy Tahoe is one of the most popular full-size SUVs here at West Chevy in Knoxville, and it comes with many practical and luxurious features that daily drivers love. There are trim options for every budget, and we wanted to provide a close-up look at each here on the blog.

The LS Trim is the entry-level base option and comes with an 8-inch touchscreen display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a tri-zone climate control system. The powertrain shows up prepped for duty and determined with its 5.3-liter V8 paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is included as standard, and drivers are offered the opportunity to upgrade to a 4-wheel drive to properly prepare for inclement weather.

The LT Trim includes a 10.2-inch touchscreen and an eye-pleasing 12-inch digital instrument cluster. Loading will be a breeze while making use of the hand-free liftgate, and you won’t have any issues staying consistently connected with wireless phone charging capability. Enjoying the scenery with fully optimized sounds will be an excellent form of holiday treat to boot, as the premium 9-speaker Bose system is an expertly engineered treat for the senses.

The RST Trim sees sleek performance edging its presence into the already-awesome Tahoe picture and is equipped with the 5.3-liter V8 with the option to nudge up to the 6.2-liter that cranks out 433 horsepower. After the “sleigh bells and whistles” are all said and done, the fully equipped RST model is the fastest Tahoe to ever roll confidently off the line. The Z71 Trim comes equipped to take on the many challenges that off-roading chucks in your path, with enhanced ground clearance, front-mounted skid plate for protection, and 20-inch all-terrain tires.

The Premier Trim makes the push to full-on luxury status, with the same goods under the hood but nicer equipment and interior. You’ll be aptly surrounded by the upper-level comfort of leather seats, a 10-speaker premium stereo system from Bose, and the durable convenience of power-operated second and 3rd-row seats. The drive will also encounter the futuristic touch of the autonomous with the festive and hands-free holiday goodness of Super Cruise, navigating you safely and intuitively on many pre-mapped streets and highways nationwide.

The High-Country Trim provides the necessary fine-element touches to render the Tahoe a fully-fledged formal event and a capable weekender’s SUV. There are leather seats in the front two rows, heated and ventilated seats in the first row, and a very striking and current wood trim design. You can also add 22-inch wheels and exclusive badging! Whether it’s time to haul around a winning soccer team or a week’s worth of overland gear, there’s plenty of room here for your passengers along with their cargo!

2023 Chevy Equinox in Line for Sensational “Summer of Rebounded Freedom” Power Boost

This summer, prices on just about every good or service have gone up, and consumers at West Chevy of Knoxville who are feeling the squeeze all are still wanting to enjoy summer fun without reaching deep into their wallet.

The brand-new Chevy Equinox EV won’t arrive until later in 2023, and now is the ideal time to drive off of the lot with the current and awesomely-equipped gas model. The knowledgeable staff on duty at Carbuzz.com reported last week that the 2023 Equinox will receive a new LSD engine to replace the current LYX unit, which still displaces 1.5 liters with a turbocharger. The Midnight and Sport Edition Packages will also reportedly return on the 2023 model, bringing the addition of black exterior trim, black badging, and a matching blacked-out interior.

Extensive production of the 2023 Equinox is likely to begin soon, meaning that official stats on availability and pricing should be available in the coming weeks. The 2023 Equinox will be available in LS, LT, RS, and Premier trim levels, and we were immediately impressed with the Equinox’s Highway Safety marks being the highest rating for most categories of five stars overall. We are confident that the Equinox has all the class-leading driving chops that it takes to dominate the competition in the form of the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Mazda CX-5.

The recent facelift for the equinox has brought a brand-new front end, new headlights, a new grill and a brand-new bumper. There's plenty of space here for passengers on board, and two generous rows of seats that can comfortably situate 5 adult passengers. The front seats provide a great amount of comfort and support, and the driving position offers an excellent viewpoint of the road. The current model comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, four USB ports, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, voice recognition, and A 6 speaker stereo.

The additional upgrades you get as you move up the trim scale are the 8-inch touch screen, two additional USB ports, wireless device charging, satellite radio, HD radio, A7 speaker Bose premium stereo, and the very useful for longer hauls’ rear-seat entertainment system. The incoming Equinox will also come standard with forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, the following distance indicator, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high beam headlights, and a rearview camera. A few of the upper-level upgrades we definitely recommend are blind-spot monitoring, rear traffic cross alert, surround view parking camera system, and adaptive cruise control in the very high-tech safety alert seat.

The new Chevy Traverse is here at West Chevy of Knoxville, and it has been in high demand! The refresh for the 2022 model includes revised styling and some great new safety features such as lane-keep assist, automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and automatic high-beam headlamps. We also know that you’ll love the convenience of the available power liftgate, and three rows of comfortable seating.

These features make the new Traverse the ideal family vehicle with familiar Bow-tie brand swagger, towing up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped, and a drive mode selector allowing you to drive in any conditions. The LT Trim has captured the staff at Motorbiscuit.com’s attention, impressing them with the second-row captain’s chairs, power-adjustable driver’s seat, and fog lights and roof rails included.

This is THE premier vehicle in the family-SUV market. Whether your mission is shuttling for the soccer team, commuting to work, or hitting the road for a long trip, the Traverse will always be a top contender. The V6 always impresses with its gritty power, and pairs perfectly with the smooth shifts courtesy of the nine-speed automatic transmission.

With the standard second-row bench, there is seating for eight passengers, and the comfy twin captain’s seats in the second row make room for seven. The kids in the back will be able to spread out as well as be fully entertained, as new this year is an optional eight-inch digital display in the instrument cluster that works in conjunction with the standard central touchscreen display. The 2022 Traverse will also feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, with a twin-panel sunroof and brand-new rear power sunshade.

Now stretching out over 204 inches, the Traverse has 10 inches on the competing Toyota Highlander. You’ll be sailing in tech-supported glory with the full suite of active safety systems now standard and GM’s OnStar connected services with 4G LTE and in-vehicle Wi-Fi. As you move up to higher trims, you get to enjoy leather upholstery, the power liftgate, and a fully-upgraded audio experience. This year’s Traverse comes standard with front-wheel drive, with AWD optional. The Traverse High Country boasts the addition of a dual-clutch transfer system that can adjust the torque going to each individual rear wheel, which prevents dangerous slippage.

2022 Chevy Traverse Entering Production Status During Q4

All of us at West Chevy of Knoxville have plenty to be thankful for during this month, as it brings awesome outdoor activities and the gorgeous fall colors that line the roads at the scenic Concord Park Trails and the Baker Creek Preserve right here in Knoxville. The 2022 Chevy Traverse entered production last week, and there's going to be tons to be thankful for!

It features revised exterior styling with new LED headlamps and taillights and a reworked interior with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Standard Chevy Safety Assist Package brings automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, and following distance indicator to keep you safe and sound while running holiday errands!

With its hefty standard V6, suite of active safety features, and seating for up to eight, the Traverse remains the best SUV choice! A 5,000-lb. towing rating is also a fantastic feature for hauling anything you need! The engine start/stop button can also now be disabled with one touch, and whether you have soccer team shuttling duty or a standard work commute, the Traverse is always dependable.

Every model has three rows of seats, and all the infotainment functions are logical and simple to use. Also brand-new this year is an eight-inch digital display in the instrument cluster, and a new rear power sunshade, and an available twin-panel sunroof. There’s also a fully revised grille, updated front and rear fascias, and more aggressive LED headlight signatures. Every model includes multi-zone automatic climate control, powerful V6 engine, and USB ports in all three rows, as well as GM’s OnStar connected service providing in-vehicle Wi-Fi and 4G LTE.

Another added benefit is the Rear Camera Mirror that enables the rearview mirror to handily project a completely unobstructed view live from a camera. Adaptive Cruise Control is also available on the LT level trims and above! Growing families that need more and more space, comfortable seats, real captain’s chairs, and independently controlled AC in each row will be ecstatic, and the characteristically big engine always delivers. One satisfied reviewer with a verified purchase claimed they “just didn’t want to be a van person” and loved towing a small camper during the dog days of summer!

2022 Suburban and Tahoe Slated for Arrival With Power Upgrade, New Color Choices, Massively Improved Stability

The Suburban and Tahoe are always popular at West Chevy, and a batch of new improvements for the 2022 model year make them both even more exciting! An entirely new platform, improved driving dynamics, bold styling, and an interior with more tech features all make these two incoming XXL SUVs greater than ever. They both will also be available with a brand-new electric limited-slip differential, as an in-depth feature on the CarBuzz.com blog laid out last week.

A brand-new electric limited-slip differential greatly improves the SUV’s traction and stability by optimizing the amount of torque that is divided between the rear wheels. Opting for the Off-Road Capability Package also provides the addition of Magnetic Ride Control and Air Ride Adaptive Suspension. It comes included with the Z71 Off-Road package, and is bound to make a huge difference when driving on various types of terrains.

The new Suburban and Tahoe models also provide the choice of your favorite color. The 2022 pair will see Auburn Metallic, Dark Ash Metallic, and Evergreen Gray Metallic added to the list, replacing Shadow Gray Metallic and Graywood Metallic.

The naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 that was previously the High Country trim’s defining powertrain will now be available on the RST, Z71, and Premier trims. Paired nicely with a ten-speed automatic, this offering cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 lb/ft of torque.

You can also opt for the 5.3-liter V8 that is good for 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, or the 3.0-liter inline-six turbo doling out 277 horsepower and 460 lb/ft. These two powerful SUVs aren’t just all about braun. They will come equipped with a new 12-inch digital driver information center to monitor all the vitals and performance in action.

The Suburban is so iconic, it has its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Its massive grille, thin headlights, and characteristically tall hood line are a few of its elements that stand out right away. It is the perfect pairing for the Tahoe, and both models will be able to seat more cargo than before. Some of the available safety features found on both models are forward collision warning, rear parking sensors, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and the ultimate supervisor in Teen Driver!

2022 Chevy Blazer Configurator Provides First-Rate Digital Window Shopping For America’s Most Fun and Sporty Crossover

The 2022 Chevy Blazer’s online configurator is an awesome tool that allows you to grab your mouse and tinker with all four trim levels before making your selection and driving away in your new vehicle.

The 2.5-Liter four-cylinder LCV gasoline engine is no longer offered. Instead, you have the turbocharged 2.0-Liter 4-cylinder LSV and 3.6-Liter V6 LGX as your two powertrain choices. The 3.6-Liter is rated at 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, with both front-wheel and all-wheel drive available. The four-cylinder variants now sport a towing ability increase up to 3,500 pounds. Other updates include the addition of a sleek two-tone black roof and the addition of standard Chevy Safety Assist.

This package includes automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, following distance indicator, forward collision alert, and IntelliBeam. The Car and Driver crew gave the 2022 Blazer model kudos for its racy design, ample space for cargo and passengers, and great value. Nitro Yellow and Blue Glow are two new color choices, and the Premier trim is now available with an Enhanced Convenience package.

Even in the RS trim, the Blazer is more competent and engaging than its competitors, and its standard 18-inch wheels and tire combination is the perfect antidote for bumpy roads. Officially rated at 22 mpg city and 29 highway, the V4 version is more economical, with the V6 coming in at 20 mpg city and 27 highway. The climate control system and air vents are inspired by the Chevy Camaro and look amazing with the leather surfaces and upscale materials offered in the higher trim levels.

You’ll be enjoying the 31 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 64 cubic feet with the seats folded. Two USB ports located at the front and back of the center console are standard, and a 120-volt outlet is available on some models. Want to make your 2022 Blazer even more of an entertainment hub? You can also equip it with a Wi-Fi hotspot, 8-speaker Bose audio system, wireless charging, and built-in navigation.

2022 Blazer Brings Back a Classic With a New Personality

Three years ago, Chevy made waves as the reintroduction of the Blazer was official. The Blazer had not been in the lineup since 2005 when the S-10 was discontinued. Even though the general personality of the Blazer has changed a bit, it’s still an urban-ready and powerful crossover with all the best tech features and an appeal that is sure to appeal to all drivers.

With more curves and a less jagged and metallic presence, this is an amazingly redesigned and muscle car-influenced offering! When Standard.Net took an entire week to give it a thorough test drive, they were consistently enthralled with the overall design. Generating conversation and turning heads, the 2022 Blazer was destined to stand out from the crown.

The 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder cranks out 193 horsepower and is available in front-wheel drive only. The 3.6-liter V6 generates an exciting 305 horsepower and is available with standard all-wheel-drive. The leather-trimmed seats in the Jet Black color and red stitching accents added a touch that pays homage to the Blazer of yesteryear. If your hands happen to be full of textbooks, groceries, or equipment, a quick wave of the foot under the SUV conveniently opens the liftgate.

To help keep you safe, the Blazer comes standard with lane change alert, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking assist, and a Teen Driver mode. Sleek and stylish, it is the perfect size if you think the Traverse is too big and the Equinox is too small. One of the best things about today’s SUV selection is the wide selection of extra upgrades to give you exactly what you want. Consider adding the Convenience and Driver Confidence Package for some extra features such as remote start, heated front seats, and auto-dimming mirrors!

A few of the winning touches on the exterior were 18-inch gloss black machined aluminum wheels, LED taillamps, heated power-adjustable mirrors, dual-exhaust outlets, and RS lettering and black ornamentation. Tennessee Tribune Deems 2019 Chevy Blazer Premier as “The Perfect Two-Row Midsize SUV”

The Tennessee Tribune ran a feature this past week about the new 2019 Chevy Blazer Premier, joining the ranks of those who eagerly want to cover the 305-horsepower and incredibly fun-to-drive release. When it's time for the workload to pick up a drastic notch, this SUV has a tow rating of up to 4,500 lbs, and the 9-speed automatic transmission provides smooth shifts and well-ranked fuel economy. There is a dominating essence of elegance due to the chrome accents inside and out, as well as suede microfiber seating surfaces, and the always-striking presence of premium leather.

The Tribune staff also took an immediate liking to the very thin LED daytime running lamps above the headlights, that make for a squared-off and very aggressive appearance. All-wheel Drive is offered on every Blazer 3.6-Liter V6 model, and the RS as well as Premier trims feature the Advanced AWD system. This is an excellent addition that works overtime to improve overall driver control: it independently directs the all-important torque through a twin-clutch rear-axle design to the rear wheel with the best traction when road conditions are poor. This results in more overall control of the Blazer, and an ability to be more confident during the daily drive behind the wheel.

The AWD feature allows drivers to make adjustments to the vehicle's performance on road surfaces that are more challenging, just by simply turning a dial. When equipped with AWD, Driver Mode Control includes the Tour, All-Wheel Drive, Sport Mode, Off-Road, and the Tow/Haul settings. Just a few years ago, drivers would have given just about anything to be able to have access to these modes: every single different option really provides you a very custom-detailed and sensitively-engineered plan of attack for the road. Sport mode will always remain at the top of the list, as it enhances every element about the Blazer that connects you to the road while enjoying every punch off the line and unanticipated corner.

Situated right in between the Equinox and the full-size Traverse SUV, the 2019 Blazer is Chevy's smart vehicle that allows the brand to flaunt a very full and robust fleet of crossovers and SUVs for the buyer to choose from. The review staff on duty at Motor1.com were smitten right away by the styling that was heavily inspired by the Camaro, as well as the ultimate balance provided between a very comfortable ride, and handling that is over-the-top precise and confident. Offering up 64.2 cubic feet of cargo with the second row folded, there is plenty of storage space for hauls, and your groceries won't slide around in the back like they do in many current SUVS! Ask us here at West Chevy about the Driver Confidence II Package: here you add features like wireless charging pad, a 360-degree Surround Vision Camera, and the Rear Camera Mirror that has the ability to replace your rearview mirror's reflection with a video feed of everything behind you.

2019 Blazer RS AWD Deemed as the Ultimate “Winner on its Hands” For Chevy By BlackpressUSA.com

When it comes to the brand-new Chevy Blazer now available here at West Chevy, it is most definitely not the Blazer we last remembered. As an in-depth writeup in BlackpressUSA.com described this week, while the name died with the production 2005, Chevy's new cutting-edge crossover is the definition of completely new inside and out. It is now based on a car platform rather than a truck, but don't dismay: at first drive, everyone is loving this new crossover in a major way. All-wheel drive configuration is available depending on which trim you select, and this feature also does a good job of proclaiming that a great job was done with the Blazer by “not making it look like a station wagon on steroids.”

Writer Jeff Fortson then claims that “Never before has Chevy designed a crossover that was so expressive”. Now that consumers don't always have sedans and coupes at the top of their shopping list and automakers are taking on the task of completely revamping their offerings, we have definitely given customers good reason to consider this athletic and ingenious vehicle. It is very roomy and accommodating, with top-notch extra features such as a panoramic sunroof, a color rotary dial fan, a driver's safety seat, a radar-activated cruise control system, a push-button ignition starter, heated rear seats, six USB ports, and choice of two powertrains.

The fit and finish that sports extra storage built into the front doors were a few of the touches that made the Blazer ultimately a very worthy option for these experts. The RS trim was the favored variant for this drive testing staff, and the ride, as well as handling capabilities, far exceeded their expectations. The author is also the host of Sirius XM Channel 141 Auto Trends with JeffCars.com, and has been steering customers towards the best purchases for their needs for years.

The test vehicle also came with 21-inch gloss wheels, memory setting, a rear camera mirror, safety alert system radar-activated cruise control, power tilt/telescopic steering wheel, automatic headlights, a front pedestrian braking system, 360-degree camera, and lane departure warning system. A vehicle's warranty can be the most important quality of them all when it comes to the final choice, and we back the Blazer with a 3 year or 36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, and 5 year or 60,000-mile coverage offering for the powertrain.

The towing rating for the new Blazer is 1,500 lbs, and EPA fuel rating is at 25 mpg in the city, and 30 mpg on the highway. We invite you to check out the vehicle that U.S.News and World Report had stellar rankings for: the accommodating second-row seats, very fuel-efficient base engine, and agile handling were the features that pushed the Blazer above and beyond!

Tired Of Mainstream? Chevy’s Special Edition SUVs Won’t Disappoint

After the takeoff of the 2016 Trax Midnight Edition, Chevrolet has decided to expand these special-edition features to two other well-known SUVs in their lineup. On sale now, the 2017 Equinox is available in two editions- Midnight and Summit White Sport. The 2017 Traverse is available in Graphite Edition.

Senior director of automotive industry insights at Kelly Blue Book stated “Special Editions give consumers an opportunity to buy something outside of the mainstream trim designation. This lets them spend a little more for a unique model, one that often provides a higher resale value when it’s time to sell or trade the vehicle for their next purchase.”

The Midnight and Summit White Editions of the Equinox will be available on the LT model. They will each feature an all-black grille with black Chevrolet bowties, black mirror caps, 18-inch black aluminum wheels, and jet-black perforated leather-appointed seats with memory seating. Rack crossbars have been added to the roof.

The Traverse is offered on the 2LT model and has features such as Mosaic Black Metallic, Siren Red Tintcoat and Iridescent Pearl Tricoat exterior colors. It will sit on 20-inch Dark Charcoal wheels and also feature the all-black Chevrolet bowties. The Traverse will have a dual exhaust and integrated assist step, making it easier to get in and out of the vehicle.
