2021 Chevy Tahoe PPV Offers Law-Enforcement-Grade Status to Keep Streets Safe

As we have always taken note of just how useful and multi-capable the Tahoe is here at West Chevy of Knoxville, this full-size SUV now has another important and life-saving duty to attend to: the 2021 Chevy Tahoe PPV is on target to handle police duties like a boss. Chevy has enjoyed a longstanding partnership with law enforcement to collect information and know which equipment, reinforcement, and technology features are required. The 2021 Chevy Tahoe PPV derives power from a 5.3-liter L84 EcoTec 3 small-block V8 that cranks out 355 horsepower.

The advanced technology in the Dynamic Fuel Management feature offers twelve different modes of cylinder deactivation designed to assure that the engine remains efficient even when adapting to the changing conditions of pursuit and rescue duties. Speaking of very high speeds, it also puts to use the high-performance rocker covers borrowed from the ZL1 LT4 engine from the Chevy Camaro, drastically improving crankcase ventilation. The ten-speed Hyrda-Matic 10L80 automatic transmission was developed as a dual partnership between Ford and GM. Since officers are bound to encounter situations that heavily tax the engine, dedicated cooling systems take care of making sure that temperatures of the transmission fluid and oil are kept cool enough to handle the pressure.

The challenges of police work also have a heavy toll on suspension, and this Tahoe PPV's suspension has seen modifications that added monotube dampers, coil springs, and stabilizer bars to assure that there is minimal body roll as well as preparing the driver to be able to execute different maneuvers. The standard Duralife brake rotors and calipers have been replaced with six-piston aluminum monoblock calipers and Brembo 16-inch rotors. For those taking a test-drive of the new Tahoe that only have civilian duties on their daily to-do list the Tahoe provides a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, a standard Rear-Vision Camara, and the Rear Park Assist sensor suite that comes in handy when squeezing into tighter parking spots.

Forward collision alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, and following distance indicator are other onboard technical safety features that help in the way of extra “eyes and ears” while in pursuit or high-traffic location. The alternator in the Tahoe PPV has been upgraded with one that is 47% more powerful, and a 760-amp battery was added to aid with the higher-power lighting equipment that law enforcement duties demand.

The longer wheelbase on the 2021 Tahoe greatly increases passenger comfort, and its towing and hauling abilities are similar to that of a full-size pickup. Its new independent rear suspension provides a much more composed ride and gives you greater stability during quick cornering. There is also an upgrade in the form of a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system mounted on top of the dash, and a wireless charging pad offered as standard works well in conjunction with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Premier trim provides numerous high-end extras for sprawled-out enjoyment including a 10-speaker Bose audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, second-row bucket seats, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitor.

2021 Chevy Corvette's Head-to-Head Race With the Polar Express May See Arrival Earlier Than Expected

2021 Chevrolet Corvette

On-schedule production has been an element of many new car releases that has unfortunately been altered this year, as unforeseen events took their toll on manufacturing and development worldwide. The good news in the form of much-needed holiday cheer is that things are looking up for C8 completion, as the Corvette Action Center reports that production has now ramped up to two shifts that can result in 186 cars per day, up from last month's stated abilities.

With this thankfully being the case, the scheduled arrival of the 2021 model has moved up, and just may beat the snow-and-icicle-covered clock to arrive for some happy owners by Christmas day! An official update released last week claimed that production is now scheduled to begin on December 8, which is a month earlier than previously thought. In order to achieve a lofty goal of 20,000 units for this outgoing model year, the 2020 and 2021 Corvettes may be produced side by side. Another promising sign is the arrival of the 2021 configurator, ready for those to piece together their favorite form of this mid-engined marvel that has taken the automotive world by storm.

This year's model sees the introduction of two new colors and new stripe options, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the standalone option of magnetorheological dampers. These employ the movement of fluid between different chambers by way of small orifices in the piston, completing the conversion of shock energy into actual heat. This addition is very effective in providing a smooth ride, and the stiffness can be changed by the push of a button. It's the long-awaited release that U.S. News claimed is “A sheer joy to drive”, with a V8 laying down raw power displaying the utmost sense of well-chiseled authority.

With a powertrain enabling it to get up to speed like a ferociously-launching rocket, gear changes from the dual-clutch transmission are surely the fastest and smoothest we have ever witnessed here at West Chevy of Knoxville. With the engine now mounted directly behind the driver's seat, you can lean in and take note of the magnificent roar present at full throttle, with the option to add an amazing performance exhaust. Where sought after thrill factor on the track becomes forever game-changing is with the addition of the Z51 Package: it provides an upgraded cooling system, performance exhaust, stiffer suspension, higher axle ratio, Michelin Pilot Sport summer tires, and restyled front splitter as well as a rear spoiler.

Carbon fiber side mirrors and a carbon fiber grille insert are other additives to provide an individual and stealth-like appearance, and a red or silver engine cover is an ideal choice to add a premier sense of spotlight celebrating the new layout. Heftily succeeding in a finely-defined territory where many sports cars can't, the new Corvette offers a massively-thrilling driving experience on-demand, and easygoing mannerisms on the daily drive's flip-side. At the price that the 2021 Corvette is available for, its aggressive stance, perfectly-honed interior, and driver-focused thrills are destined to be remembered in the highest of car buff regard for decades!

Add-ons in Time for the Holidays: 4 Performance Upgrades for the Chevy Silverado 1500

Making an already great Chevy Silverado even more awesome could be the perfect holiday surprise for the truck owner on your list, and as the most festive time of year is soon upon us it's time to take note of some new upgrades that are available. Did you know that if you choose OEM-backed parts directly from GM, your factory warranty is still good? This should provide all of our West Chevy of Knoxville customers peace of mind for the long haul when choosing sweet mods for their vehicle.

The turkey-and-trimmings-ready spotlight on "The Big 4" shone brightly on the GM Authority blog last week as they provided a close-up look at the products that will allow you to still safely rely on the three-year factory warranty. These 4 unique upgrades include the Cat Back Exhaust Upgrade System, Air Intake Upgrade System, the Front Brembo Big Brake Upgrade System and the Rancho Two-Inch Suspension Lift Kit from the Chevy Performance catalog.

The Cat Back Exhaust Upgrade System offers up to a 7-horsepower improvement, and the fine-looking 4.5-inch outer diameter dual wall with an angle-cut, high-polished exhaust tip is the ultimate visual statement. The system is a bold-on cat back and everything is included for step-by-step installation, while also passing the emissions tests in every single state.

The Front Brembo Big Brake Upgrade System features Brembo six-piston, fixed aluminum calipers, and Duralife rotors to yield an 84% increase in overall brake pad area and a 42% increase in rotor area to boost thermal capacity. The Duralife hardened rotor surface helps to reduce corrosion as well as offering stellar braking with less vibration. If you have your eyes on a perfectly matched set, the Color Keyed Rear Calipers are an ideal fit while aiding stopping power and improving brake life.

The Two-Inch Suspension Lift is a great way to see a quick improvement in ground clearance, preparing those who are eager to try their hand at off-roading with an awesome trail-ready upgrade. The front camera and power steering will require slight reconfiguration. If you're looking to conquer tricky terrain, this is a great starting point before you get into skid plates, locking differentials and other expert-level gear.

The Air Intake Upgrade System works hard to reduce air intake restriction by up to 13% and looks striking situated right under the hood. It is available for 5.3-liter applications and sports a high-efficiency dry media filter, a 98-mm outer-diameter intake tube and a matching MAF calibration for first-rate performance. After undergoing strenuous testing for corrosion, durability and performance, this system is compliant with every state's emission requirements and will not void your valuable Limited Warranty.

These 4 upgrades were officially announced during the SEMA360 online show which began on November 2nd. Along with other sizzling new Chevy products such as the Electric Connect and Cruise Package or Camaro SS drag racing parts, these are all great gift ideas for the Silverado owner in your life or a great way to treat yourself and boost your brand-new truck's performance with GM-approved aftermarket items.

“Living Big in a Small SUV” With The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer AWD

After driving any car model for a week, the longstanding impression is so much better to report back on than just a short stint. The staff on hand at the Ottowa Herald spent a week with the 2021 Chevy Trailblazer, complete with All-Wheel-Drive and the high-grade ACTIV trim. It's a practical vehicle for busy families that love the functionality and form of a crossover, and you'll find room for five passengers inside. Every Trailblazer comes with 10 airbags and an array of safety features, as well as 54.4 cubic Feet of cargo space and ample head and legroom for passengers 6 ft tall and over.

All-Wheel-Drive models offer 8 inches of ground clearance, half an inch more than the front-drive option. In 1999, the Trailblazer felt like more of a truck with a robust and mighty V6 and even V8 engines. In those days crossover SUVs weren't as popular, and today the gradual transformation has led to customers raving over every new available shape and size. Power is sourced from the Ecotec 1.3-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine, cranking out 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque.

The head tester from the Herald claimed after driving that Chevy had indeed perfected the “little three” with the turbo kicking in and offering up fantastic low-end acceleration. He pointed out a crucial factor that will convince many right here at West Chevy of Knoxville the Trailblazer is a front-running choice for a new vehicle: you won't even know that it's a three-cylinder under the hood, and when you get to 60 mph and hit the accelerator, the result and all-around performance is stellar. EPA fuel rating is at 26 city and 29 highway, and the larger engine offers up 30 city and 32 highway.

Off-road ready vehicles are now in high demand, and the Trailblazer is primed and ready with skid plates to protect the underside as well as the ability to fold the front passenger seat down to make room for outdoor gear. Every trim level of Trailblazer comes with Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning and IntelliBeam Automatic high beam headlights. Parking is easy due to the vehicle's smaller size, and the MacPherson front strut with off-road suspension tuning provides an incredibly comfortable ride.

A 1,000-lb maximum towing capacity comes courtesy of a trailering kit as standard on every model, as well as four-wheel ABS disc brakes. Opting for the ACTIV trim level is where the interior ups the luxury factor with leatherette stitched seating, power driver seat with lumbar, and auto high beams. Every model features Android/Apple compatibility, air conditioning, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Another additive that comes highly recommended is the Technology Package: you'll get to enjoy a Bose seven-speaker stereo, HD surround vision camera, adaptive smart cruise, driver info cameras, wireless Apple and Android, and wireless charging.
