GM Authority Highlights What's New and Different For 2020 Chevy Suburban

Loyal fans of the Suburban here at West Chevy of Knoxville have so many great reasons to profess their adoration of the vehicle: commanding and solid, it has the space and overall sensibility to be a daily driver and long-haul number. The all-new 12th generation Chevy Suburban will launch for the 2011 model year, not the 2020 model year as originally reported. So, the current 11th generation model lives on for one final year, and GM Authority eagerly doled out the scoop last week on its changes and updates.

The interior remains largely unchanged, and the deletion of a few packages is the major news: the All-Season Package and LT Signature Package will no longer be featured. The All-Season Package was available only on the LS model, and some of the items included were All-weather floor mats, All-weather rear cargo mat, and body-color bodyside moldings. The LT Signature Package was available only on the LT model and included elements such as the grille insert, chrome recovery hooks, and 20” x 9: chrome wheels.

As far as the exterior, changes are limited to the deletion of the Pepperdust Metallic color, as well as new finishes for two wheel sets: the 22-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels with custom silver accents, and the 22-inch Bright machined aluminum wheels with Bright Silver Finish. The 2020 Chevy Suburban is expected to launch during the third quarter of the 2019 calendar year, and may see a bit shorter of a production run, as the all-new 12th – generation model is expected to launch during the first half of the 2020 calendar year as the 2020 Chevy Suburban. The GM Arlington plant was recently re-vamped to have the ability to produce the all-new Suburban that is slated to be based on the T1 platform.

Once inside the new model, you'll love the car-like design with abundant soft curves and a high amount of soft-touch material and leather in the higher trims. There is an excellent arsenal of standard available features like an 8-inch touchscreen, 3-zone climate control, power front seats, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

We predict safety features such as available automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, and lane-keep assist to carry over into the new model, which are all technical features the IHS loves to see within its safety ratings umbrella. Stiff competition should be present in the forms of the Ford Expedition, GMC Yukon, and Nissan Armada. We hope you come to visit us here this summer and talk about the Suburban and any other vehicles on the lot that may suit your business or family: Chevy stands proudly behind every single vehicle release, and is excited to win your business with our pledge of loyalty and longstanding quality of service!
