Excited Onlookers Enjoy National Drive Electric Week

On Sept. 22nd in the sunny streets of Venice, California, Chevy took over the appropriately named Electric Avenue to give the public a taste of the Eco-friendly attributes of electric power. Even though many consumers are generally familiar with the benefits of an electric vehicle, there are still many who have not yet driven one for themselves. The Bolt EUV and EV were the stars of the show as those who participated learned about the benefits of EV ownership, range, and home charging options fitted for their lifestyle.

There were also a few newly released EVs on display, as the 2024 Blazer EV and 2024 Equinox EV were present courtesy of Your Korean Dad star and EV connoisseur Nic Cho. The Bolt EV and EUV are fitting and cost-efficient options for any lifestyle, with the EV providing an EPA-estimated 259 miles of range on a full charge. Both models are offered with Chevy’s at-home charging installation promotion, and KBB.com has deemed the Bolt EV the “cheapest new electric car for sale in the United States.”

A car that is easy on the pocketbook is heavily in demand and holds a large amount of appeal within the EV segment. The 2023 Chevy Bolt features the Regen on Demand shift paddle beneath the steering wheel, and when it is set at the highest intensity of brake regeneration, the car will speed up or slow down based on how much pressure is applied to the accelerator.

During the stop and go of city driving, the Bolt EV handles amazingly smoothly, rides quietly, and still offers up bursts of acceleration when needed. The luggage space behind you is 16.6 cubic feet, which expands to 57 cubic feet after being folded down.

The 1LT Trim offers 17-inch alloy wheels, LED exterior lighting, heated side mirrors, keyless entry/start, remote start, an 8-inch digital driver information display, single-zone automatic climate control, programmable Teen Driver key, and cloth upholstery. The infotainment system has been praised for its wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Wi-Fi, in-vehicle apps, USB-A Port, USB C Port, satellite radio, and six-speaker stereo. The 2LT trim brings perforated leather seating surfaces, a heated/leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 360-degree camera system, rear parking sensors, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

2022 Chevy Bolt EUV Fleet Special Service Vehicle Package Fits Bill for Durable Fleet

Many customers who have a keen eye on what is best for the environment and a sustainable future have been noticing the progress regarding EVs and EUVs over the past few years here at West Chevy of Knoxville, where we are constantly looking ahead at new innovative products that will make a positive mark on the planet. The Bolt EUV is making many new strides for 2022, as its driving range and practical body style combine with the ultimate in electric efficiency allows drivers to experience a taste of the future as they get behind the wheel.

One of the new extras as an option is the Fleet Special Service Vehicle package, aimed at providing fleet and government orders with all of the colossal components, and officially tagged with the production option code SWR. It's available on the LT trim level, which includes a driver 8-way power seat-adjuster with driver two-way lumbar, a remote keyless entry package with four additional key-fob transmitters, and surveillance mode interior lighting. During the first quarter of this year, president Biden announced plans to completely overhaul the U.S. Government's fleet of cars, trucks, and SUVs with vehicles that all are built piece-by-piece on American soil.

The government's entire fleet is set to be replaced with clean electric vehicles, and all 645,000 have quite a ways to go with just over 3,000 of them now sourcing electric power as their means of juice. You can test drive the new model soon right here at West Chevy is offered as a compact 5-door crossover/hatchback. A 65-kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides the power for 250 miles of exquisite driving range between charges, with a single-motor-drive unit sending 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels.

Getting the “Motor city's home state” properly fired up to construct the Bolt EUV at the GM Lake Orion facility, the 4.3 million square feet here that have been proudly dedicated to the construction of over 5.1 million vehicles for GM since 1983. This GM plant also boasts the honors of becoming the first facility of its kind to be granted the clean corporate citizen designation by the State of Michigan, while also laying claim to a 2016 Green Power Leadership Award from the U.S. EPA for 24-7 commitment and contribution to helping thoroughly advance the nation's highly-speculated green power market.

The Premier-trim example of the Bolt EUV provided a great first impression, who loved the stitching and piping on the seats as an added touch, providing an overall upscale look. There is very cool ambient lighting underneath the accent stripe on each door and across the dash, and the location of the center screen is very practical for a car this size. Even with the front seat pushed all of the ways back, this particular writer's 5-ft-10 frame fit comfortably, with ample backrest support for an extra-long drive and a pull-down center armrest in this model that is poised to halt necessary trips to the pump for good!
